Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Gail's wedding, July 8, 1945
with Grandma and Grandpa Flaherty

Story from Bill Burrows:
My Dad was discharged from the United States Navy on October 13,1945. He entered the Service on June 11, 1941 right out of high school. After serving 4 years, 3 months and 22 days in Northern Ireland, he returned to Genoa, NE. According to my Uncle Norm Rood, he and Dad raised holy hell for a while upon their return. Mom and Dad were married on July 8, my Dad's birthday. So, two of the photos you see were taken on their Wedding Day. You will recognize Grandma & Grandpa Flaherty. The couple to my Dad's left are his parents Louise "Teeny" (nee Little) Burrows and my Grandpa Harry "Speed" Burrows. How many other people can claim paternal grandparents named Speed & Teeny? They owned and operated Teeny's Cafe in Genoa. Can you dig Mom's bonnet? I don't remember Dad being so husky back then, but, of course, I wasn't born yet.
